Alpacas are gentle and curious animals known for their soft, luxurious fiber and the products that can be made from it.
Since 2014, Granite State Alpacas focuses on raising friendly alpacas with sweet temperaments and fine-quality fiber that results in soft, luxurious yarn and other alpaca-based products sold on the farm and website (granitestatealpacas.com).
We make soft and luxurious yarn and handmade alpaca products with our farm-grown alpaca fiber for our customers to enjoy: yarn, dryer balls, birdnest fluff, felted insoles, coasters. Sandy is a fiber artist and creates original pieces through weaving, crocheting, and knitting that are available for sale by both custom order or finished pieces.
Private farm tours are available April – October by appointment only. Sandy will escort you during your visit to meet the alpacas, feed them by hand, learn about alpaca farming, and maybe you’ll receive an alpaca kiss (at the alpaca’s discretion).
If you’re bringing home (or brought home) your first alpacas and need guidance, Sandy will guide you through alpaca 101 education and answer every question you have, and you’ll walk away with a list of resources about how to raise happy and healthy alpacas.
You can visit the farm store (by appointment only) to browse a variety of alpaca products made on the farm, from neighboring farms, and Peru.
