The Newbury School of Weaving preserves a millennia-old weaving tradition, offering contemporary weavers time-proven methods for efficient, quality workmanship. We welcome students of all experience levels to become part of a vital and living heritage craft.

Founded by Norman Kennedy as Marshfield School of Weaving, The Newbury School of Weaving makes its home in a historic former chapel on the common in Newbury, Vermont. Instruction ranges from one-day workshops to multi-week intensives.

Working on equipment from the 18th and 19th centuries with techniques that reach back to the Middle Ages, our programs build connection between weavers past and present.
